Crack IELTS in 12 Weeks, Even With a Full-Time Job

A realistic plan for people with a job, a commute and a life: about 10 hours a week, three focused phases, one clear target score.

12 weeks ~120 study hours Weekly mock exams in Month 3
Month 1

Foundation

Weeks 1 to 4

Find out what is actually costing you marks.

  • Sit a full timed diagnostic mock
  • Start an error log: section, mistake, fix
  • Learn every question type and 5 academic collocations a day

You leave with: a baseline score and a clear target gap

Month 2

Build

Weeks 5 to 8

Add the clock and get real feedback.

  • Reading: 20 minutes per passage, no exceptions
  • Two Task 2 essays and two Task 1 reports a week, reviewed
  • 10 minutes of recorded Speaking every day

You leave with: section scores that rise under time pressure

Month 3

Simulate

Weeks 9 to 12

Rehearse exam day, not English.

  • One full mock a week, at your real test time
  • Two hours of review after every mock
  • A live Speaking mock with a real person

You leave with: a stable score within 0.5 band of your target

Not sure where you stand today?

Start with one full timed mock. Everything else in the plan depends on that baseline.
