  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement: You need to demonstrate that you are a genuine student and intend to stay in Australia temporarily for study purposes. This involves providing a statement addressing your circumstances in your home country, your potential circumstances in Australia, the value of the course to your future, and your immigration history.
  • Financial Requirements: You must show evidence of sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees, living costs, and travel expenses. As of October 2019, the required amount for living costs is AUD 21,041 per year. You must also show you can cover travel costs (AUD 2,000 for a return trip).
  • English Proficiency: You need to provide proof of your English language skills through standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE. Minimum scores vary depending on the course and institution, but typically an IELTS score of 5.5 to 6.5 is required.
